Green building methods and building products are more than talking points & marketing. They add real value and represent the means for Stoneledge Properties to minimize our impact on the environment; while providing more comfortable, efficient & longer lived homes than traditionally available.

The basics of Green Building simply hold good builders accountable for sound building practices & provide 3rd party verification of a job well done. These basic Green Building practices have a negligible impact on the cost of a newly constructed home, as long as the builder is doing his job correctly. These processes include proper home placement and site development to minimize environmental impact, proper home encapsulation, “tight” construction practices, air stops behind knee walls and attic areas, properly installed insulation packages with all penetrations sealed, properly installed and sealed HVAC systems, correct drainage planes and water mitigation practices, Forrest Stewardship Council “FSC” certified lumber or lumber that is locally harvested/produced to minimize transportation impact.

Again these items negligibly impact the cost of new home construction if the builder is knowledgeable and willing to commit the time resources in order to implement the practices. There are other green build features that do add real cost to any project & we would be happy to discuss and guide you thru the multitude of products and services available.
